The purple resistance bands I now sell are rather slippery when compared with the one I’ve been using for years. An online search suggested this might be due to a lubricant used in manufacturing, which might be removed by washing. I did a trial.
- Shook a band in a bag with some talcum powder. This made it worse (and got talc everywhere)!
- Washed a band using liquid detergent. This helped a little.
- Washed a band (in a mesh bag) in the machine using powder detergent. This helped a little more.
I don’t remember the bands I used to sell being slippery at all, so perhaps the material has changed. If you find your band is too slippery, you might try washing it. Meanwhile, be careful to position it correctly so it is as secure as possible before stretching it.
