Skipping

Skipping (aka jumping rope) is not just for children. It can be incorporated into your regular exercise routine. It is versatile, you can go slow and steady for a low-impact workout or increase the intensity, for example with high-knee jumps.

Benefits of skipping can include:

  • boosts heart health
  • improves coordination
  • builds and maintains bone density
  • works muscles in arms and legs
  • improves your running speed

Before starting to skip, if you have osteoporosis, check the ROS website to see what level of impact is appropriate for you. If you have other medical conditions, check with your doctor to ensure that it will be an effective form of exercise for you.
